Slight Amendment To Review

Just a small addition to my review yesterday. Instead of enlarging the hole in the bearing to accommodate the circumference of the spring I've now trimmed a few loops off the spring so that there is sufficient clearance to allow the original rod to pass through the bearing hole.

Revitalised 24

I purchased this to revitalise the class 25 chassis under my Taylor Plastic Models class 24. The armature for that loco had been donated to another project. The actual fitting of the motor is fairly straightforward. The only difficult bit is the grinding down of the chassis. I did this using a Dremel drill and an appropriate grinding tool. Once you have the motor sitting level in the chassis, its an easy task to push fit the shafts into the springs on the motor, having attached the required bearing plates. This is a more reliable fit than the plastic tubing available in other conversion kits. I had to enlarge the hole in one of the bearing plates to take the spring as the location of the spring on the shaft co-incided with the slot for the bearing plate, but this was no problem. Once wired up, the performance improvement to the loco is fantastic.

Replacement motor

I fitted to Farish Poole class 20. I found the flexible shaft couplings on the motor too short, but I replaced them with silicone tubing from Tramfabric which worked well. Motor performs well especially at low speed. REPLY from Bob Russell, thanks for the review nice If you had contacted me I could have told you how to fix the problem by a simple twist of the springs outward from the motor, problem solved.

Class 25 refurbishment

Easily fitted to a newly acquired, unloved Class 25 without a motor. Runs quietly and smoothly, a great product. Hope to get more of these to improve the performance of my other Poole built locos.

Class 91 coreless motor conversion.

My old Poole built class 91 motor armature had suffered too much overheating and the motor had lost all it's torque. It could barely crawl along. I fitted the new coreless motor from Farish Spares. What a transformation, its performance is excellent and as quiet as a brand new Chinese built Farish loco. Read and follow the instructions supplied with the motor to help with the installation.

Coreless Motor Kit

I had a poole class 47 in need of a new motor, so I purchased a new coreless kit motor from BR Lines and with help from a friend fitted it to my poole class 47. The loco now runs like new, very smooth and very quiet. I would recommend this motor kit to all! Better than buying a new loco. If you can not fit it yourself i can recommend a man called Lee at LP RAILS based in Leicester, he will be only to pleased to give you costings.

Great product

I bought a Coreless motor modification kit from BR Lines for my old Poole diesel loco. My friend and I had a go at fitting it and it has totally transformed the loco. It runs nice and smooth without any noise at all. Absolutely brilliant, worth every penny.
